Alexlibrarians 2.0 is a training program developed and launched for the Library of Alexandria staff on July 2009. It is based upon a wide learning initiative introduced by Stephen Abram’s article, “43 things I (or You) might want to do this year (Information Outlook – Feb 2006)”, the Learning 2.0 program designed by Helene Blowers, the Technology Director of the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County as well as the experiences of many worldwide libraries.

Alexlibrarians 2.0 aims to enable the library staff to be acquainted with Web 2.0 tools and applications and to efficiently use them to create, share and disseminate content and promote library services via the internet. This blog is set to keep up with the training phases and to keep in contact with the registered participants. The design of this course is completely built on Web 2.0 technologies that are freely available on the Internet. These sites include: WordPress, Flickr, YouTube and more.
